MMS carries multimedia content, such as an image, in a message. It can be useful when a visual adds information that plain text alone would not convey.

Media and text

Start with a clear image and concise supporting text. For example, a product notification could include a product image, its name and a link to view details. Supported file formats and size limits depend on the sending service and destination network. Confirm the accepted formats and maximum file size for your intended route before preparing the final asset. Keep a smaller version available for routes with tighter limits. Do not rely on text embedded in an image for essential details. Include the business name, the purpose of the message and the next step in the accompanying text.

Prepare the content

  • Use an image that remains legible on a small screen.
  • Keep the key information in the accompanying text.
  • Check the file type and size for the intended destination.
  • Review the received message on a representative device.

Choose the experience

For a text-only message, start with SMS. For a conversation with rich cards and suggested actions, explore RCS.
Smerio MMS availability, accepted media formats and file-size limits are not confirmed yet. Saving a channel configuration does not enable media delivery. This guide helps you plan content and does not establish live MMS support.

Configure your number

Prepare both channels in SMS & MMS setup. The shared workspace configuration saves number and messaging preferences. It does not activate live sending.
